Recreation

If you appreciate the great outdoors, you’ll love living in Bucksport. The town of Bucksport is blessed with over 2,000 acres of lakes and fish-filled ponds, including crystal clear Silver Lake.

For those who like organized sports, Bucksport’s Community Recreational Complex includes an outdoor pool, ball fields, lighted tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts, and a lighted skating rink for four seasons of fun. The Parks and Recreation Department works with schools and community groups to sponsor everything from gymnastics lessons and road races to pitching clinics. Several parks for young children are scattered throughout town.

For bigger "kids," the Bucksport Golf Club also boasts the longest 9-hole golf course in the state of Maine. And of course, being at the head of Penobscot Bay, Bucksport is the perfect home for sailing or boating enthusiasts.
