Bucksport Council Hires Consultant to Sell the Jed Prouty
BUCKSPORT — The town has hired a consultant to help sell the former Jed Prouty Inn on Main Street.

The Town Council Jan. 28 approved a contract with Bob Baldacci of the Baldacci Group to find a buyer for the historic building, which has been vacant for more than six years.

The agreement stipulates that the Baldacci Group will seek a developer with the financial capacity and business plan to purchase, develop and put the property to a use in keeping with “the best interest of downtown Bucksport.” The developer would have to obtain all the necessary permits and licenses and actually purchase and begin developing the property for the sale to be deemed successful.
